From an obscure Patek Philippe worn by President Trump to the National Security Advisor’s Rolex GMT and the FBI director's Breitling unit watch, the second Trump administration rolled into the White House with serious watch game.
In this new video on the W.O.E. YouTube Channel, we will analyze and discuss the watches worn by key US national security figures, because in the White House, a watch is never just a watch.
As a friendly reminder, W.O.E. is an apolitical platform. Watches are the lens through which we view history and current events. Enjoy episode thirty-two of W.O.E. TV.

Donald Trump, first he bought the Rolex President, then he became president ……
Now. Let me reiterate again
POTUS needs to put his money where is mouth is and wear 90% US made RGM watch. The Caliber 20, Pennsylvania Tourbillion, or Pennsylvania 801.
Charlene,
Old is synonymous with horology. Shit hasn’t changed in 200 years. You got a barrel, 4 wheels, an escapement, and a balance wheel. Same logic with every mechanical and automatic watch for 200 years. If I wanted new I get Quartz 🤮
No you read up. Of course they’re old. The patents expired so everyone is cloning ETA workhorses. Most of the so called in-house movements are glorified 2824-2/7750 clones anyway. So what’s available outside in-house? These are all the calibers available to microbrands.
ETA 2824-2 The Swiss: Sellita SW200, Soprod P024, Landeron L24, STP1-11, and LJP G100/101.
The Chinese: Seagull ST2130/TY2130 , the Hangzhou 6300/6301, the H.K. Precision Technology PT5000, and the Liaoningi Peacock SL-3000/CL3000.
Valjou 7750. Swiss: Sellita SW500, LJP L100, Concepto C99001, and Valanvron 7750(which is a Chinese clone with Swiss finishing)
Chinese: Shanghai 3LZF2, Hangzhou 7750, Liaoning Peacock SL4613D, and Dandong 7750/4616.
All the mid range US micro brands use Swiss ETA clones. It’s only a matter of time when a US company liberates them from the Swiss, Chinese, and Japanese calibers so they can transition their sourcing to all American companies and claim “made in the USA” according to the US FTC regulations. American watchmaking prestige will return.
