W.O.E.’s First In-Person Interview Video Features Rick Woolard, A Vietnam-Era Frogman & SEAL Team 6 Commander
We are beyond excited to announce the release of our first interview video on the W.O.E. YouTube Channel. Our first subject, US Navy Captain (Ret.) Rick Woolard joined the Navy in 1965, serving with distinction as a SEAL during the Vietnam War at the start of an incredible 30-year career that culminated with commanding SEAL Team 6. Woolard was also issued a Tudor Submariner, but throughout his career and post-military life, Rick religiously wore a Rolex Submariner reference 1680, a watch that has seen its fair share of action and adventure.
This is only the first in a new series of in-person videos highlighting individuals from the W.O.E. Community and, of course, their watches. Humble brag, but this is a big moment for us. We’ve been putting a ton of time and effort into filming and editing the type of videos we would like to watch ourselves, and we’re pumped to get them out to y’all.
Rick’s story and watches are truly incredible, and a powerful reminder that, once again, a watch is never just a watch.
Enjoy episode thirty-eight of W.O.E. TV.
Happy Hunting,
-W.O.E.

The first time I ever crossed SEAL Team TWO’s quarterdeck was as a young Sea Cadet in 1983. Rick was the CO then. A few years later in 1988 I crossed the SEAL Team TWO quarterdeck as a new BUD/S graduate checking in to my first Team and Ryan McCombie was the CO. Right around the time we filmed this episode with Rick he and I enjoyed an afternoon touring present day SEAL Team TWO with an active-duty friend and W.O.E. follower. Taking the Rick guided tour of the Team’s history hallway was a treat. Displayed prominently on the second deck in the Vietnam section is a shirt Rick was wearing one of the times he was shot, the holes still visible. The watches are great but who’s wrists the watches were riding on are the best part.
A great example of the man making the watch! Somehow getting this same watch by going to the local mall and begging them to sell it to you does not carry the same cachet.

Really interesting!
Single tank, fins and mask, weight belt and watch. Nothing else. Be afraid, be very afraid.
