Updated for 2026, the W.O.E. Submersible Wrist Compass now features a slightly slimmer profile and refinements to the integrated compass module, further enhancing wearability and performance while maintaining its proven design.
The W.O.E. Submersible Wrist Compass is a capable tool that also honors the heritage of our community, providing a custom dial with C3 Super-LumiNova, a grade two titanium case, individual water resistance testing to 100 meters, and slim 24.5mm wide by 12mm thick dimensions.
At W.O.E., we often discuss the importance of timekeeping in operational scenarios, but navigation is another equally critical element. The archetypal image of the Vietnam-Era SEAL or a MACV-SOG operator almost always includes not only a legendary tool watch but also a wrist compass, worn on the same strap. Like watches, wrist compasses are a part of the culture of our community.
The W.O.E. Submersible Wrist Compass is the direct result of over two years of prototyping and extensive testing by divers and SpecOps personnel, a capable tool ready to accompany your most rugged watches.
We created a custom dial inspired by the Waltham/W.C.C. compasses worn and used by Special Operators during the Vietnam War. The indices are straightforward and clean, with an oversized arrow to represent north, rectangles for the other cardinal points, and subtle grey-on-black W.O.E. text at six.
Legibility in underwater scenarios and at night is key to our design. To achieve the brightest possible glow, we procured Swiss-made Super-LumiNova C3 for our custom dials, representing the first time this premium material has been used in a strap compass.
The case is constructed of grade two titanium for its antimagnetic and lightweight properties. The low profile design was achieved by making the entire top surface domed and eliminating unnecessary height from the case. With an overall height of 12 millimeters, only approximately 9 millimeters sit above the strap, thinner than the vast majority of dive watches.
The diameter is also restrained, measuring 24.5 millimeters, smaller than other commercially available compasses. The 20 and 22mm variants are the same size, with the 22mm version differing only in the size of its strap opening. The compass itself measures 20mm in diameter and is held within the case by a screw-down lockring that is secured to a specific torque spec at the factory. We do not recommend unscrewing the lockring. Thanks to an inner bushing, our compass is rattle-free.
The 1.5-millimeter strap opening was designed to fit our Five Eyes Nylon Straps or Z.A. Straps single pass collaborations and will not fit thicker straps. While the compass can technically be installed on the Glomar Explorer and Commando straps, we do not recommend it as the installation process can damage the straps. The underside of the case is engraved with the compass’s specifications and the W.O.E. Spearhead.
Each W.O.E. Submersible Wrist Compass is individually tested to its full 100-meter water resistance rating. Being oil-filled also naturally prevents the intrusion of water. Each stage of prototyping as well as final production models have also been tested extensively by maritime special operations forces to ensure our compass lives up to our Use Your Tools ethos.
As a note, this wrist compass, like any compass this size, is intended for general wayfinding only and should not be used for orienteering or navigational purposes.
In addition, this compass, like any oil-filled compass, may develop tiny bubbles that appear and disappear over time depending on the external temperature and pressure. These bubbles do not hamper the function or accuracy of the compass in any way.

Our unit trains on long range patrols using map/compass navigation, no GPS. The WOE compass fitted snugly on my Bulova Hack’s strap. It was easy to glance down at the watch to check we were heading on our bearings without have to stop and get a compass out every time. Worked a treat even submerged from river crossings. Everyone else was jealous! Also had no issue with getting bashed around or coping with recoil from the belt fed LSW. Good job mate.

Waited a good while for this to be restocked, and for good reason. It’s a fantastic little bit of kit and a great conversation starter. I wore this with my titanium pelagos lhd at Glasgow watch show. Almost everyone I spoke to there complimented it and a few people even took photos. Some of them were girls, what a rush! This slaps, it’s cheaper than the titanium alternatives that are available, does a far better job and is built for whatever you want to throw at it. I fly regularly and it’s still accurate. 0 complaints, many compliments. Fantastic job from WOE, once again.

Waited for the wrist compass to come back in stock and then was able to get one!! I paired it with my camping, "into the woods" watch; a Citizen Garrison Chronograph Eco-drive on a NATO strap (Model AT0200-05E). I bought the watch with saved up loose change that I accumulated while taking a Tradecraft Operations Course (TOC) that was put on by CITC. This was my gift to me at the end of several weeks of 16-18 hour days! The compass sets off the watch and the band perfectly!

Absolutely amazing piece. WOE knocked it outta the park, looking forward to putting some miles on it. Good reminder to not forget where North is.

Most impressed. Professional packaging. Titanium case pairs well with stainless steel. Needle points to magnetic north (sort of critical…). Maintains luminosity throughout the night. Very low profile. Overall I am delighted with the value for investment.

Damn! I hate to comment because I have yet to be able to pick up the 22mm version. These things sold out very quickly last time around! Before 6am MST. That said it is a handy and exceptionally well-made tool. Very well, done there! Downside? As stated on the web page, you won't get one on a Glomar. That required going back to the OEM mil-spec Marathon ballistic strap. Perfect fit on the 20mm btw. Probably time to pony up for a WOE strap that will fit. But I'll wait until after the 22mm Compass comes back online.

Very pleased with this compass. It’s an awesome little accessory that quickly catches the eye, especially when you’re not used to seeing two dials on the one wrist. Goes great with my BB41 Mono, however I think the titanium Pelagos is its match made in heaven.

Certainly not disappointed with WOE’s wrist compass quality. I liked the nod to the vintage Waltham compass and it compliments my Bremont well. Awesome job and thank you.

Your robust wristwatch compass finally reached me at the US consulate in North Africa via Texas. Initial impressions: it has ornamental appeal as well as a functional (directional) capability. I'm mostly a G-shock wearer these days. But, for some reason, I brought my Luminox watch from my Afghanistan days to this African post. I am convinced your Submersible compass belongs rightly on that watch. My EDC watch as a US Foreign Service officer is a Casio G-shock GW9500-1. Attaching a compass to that watch is like adding window tinting to an Abrams tank. Looks good on my Luminox, though. I'm close enough to the ocean to take the watch and the compass on a dive trip.

Compass is awesome, and so are the FVEY straps. Took the compass as a backup on a 20k hike in the wilderness near Canberra over the last two days - worked well!

Points north exactly. Will need a no nato strap to update this temporary set up. Wonderful compass robust and points out north even with metal around

I was looking for a quality watch compass and this is exactly what I wanted. It fits perfect and doesn’t need a rubber grommet like another that I own.

On my first and oldest Sangin. Always get a kick out of the newsletter and the attention to the details from W.O.E products. The compass was the last part if this project and it’s awesome.

It’s a very split grade: It’s a prett sllow compass. I really like it, but it needs a bit too much time for normal navigation.
